Mom looks like a mix... is she?

Here's my pitties when they were tiny. They've both passed on but I completely fill with joy whenever I think of them. They were my babies.

Looking at Momma dogs and their pups is one of the sweetest, most calming things in the world. Thanks for letting us glimpse this sweet little family you love.

I love dogs more than words can relate.

Are you planning to get mom and pups spayed/neutered? And will you be finding responsible homes for the pups when they are old enough?

I'm sorry to have to be the one to ask, but I must. I live in San Antonio and we have an estimated 150,000 stray dogs and an estimated 250,000 stray cats roaming the city. My sincerest hope is that YOU are located in an area that doesn't have this problem.

I know that getting 9 fixed is a big burden, but I sincerely appreciate you being committed to do this.

They ARE adorable, by the way. Glad they are in your hands instead of someone with sinister motives.

Again, sorry to be this way, but our area is just horrible and I see so much suffering.

my brother is a vet and has his own practice where I live and he's agreed to do all nine for $100.00.
It's good to have a vet in the family.

in my area, and I know more than 50% are pitts or pitt mixes. Chihuahuas are the second most available rescue dog around here, and I'm assuming these numbers tend to reflect the nation, not just my area.

It is so sad, because they are all so loving and sweet in the right hands. Not sure why so many end up homeless. I'm assuming that often they end up in the wrong hands and become a safety problem.

Good for the OP for having a vet in the family. I wish I had one. I've taken in way too many rescues over the years and it does get very expensive. I'm having to cut down by natural attrition now because I really can't afford the upkeep any more and it's not fair to an animal to not be able to afford health care for it. Vet bills have gone up astronomically lately, and I'm not sure why. So many beautiful rescues out there I'd love to bring home and now I have to say no to myself.

Oh and the puppies are adorable. I haven't smelled puppy breath in years.

We have a lot of pit and pit mixes AND a lot of chihuahuas. I think people get the chihuahuas and then realize that they can sometimes not be as "fashionable" as they anticipate (i.e., the humans are too lazy to properly care for and train the dogs) and they get dumped.

The amount and degree of cruelty that I see in my city astounds me on a daily basis.

Like you, I try to do what I can on limited resources.

we named

Jerry
Jeff
Walker
Willie
Nelson
Cher

We tied diff color ribbons around their necks so we could tell them apart quickly.

All adopted out (not all have worked out that way lol)

Nice dogs, and it's good that you're getting her spayed. Reduces the odds of cancer and tumors down the road, healthier dog, no more pups

But you can always borrow a litter from the shelter if you feel the need.
