Loukanikos, hero dog of 2011 Athens riots, has died

A dog who became a folk hero in Greece after riots over austerity gripped the country, has passed away. His name was Loukanikos, which means Sausage.

I'm glad the police didn't shoot him, as seems to be the reaction in the U.S. when law enforcement feels at all threatened.
