Nice job!! Even if you factor in shopping and labor time, it's a small price to pay when you consider the longevity of an indoor cat: 17 years vs. 3-5 years. There is no amount of money that would cover the grief I'd feel over the loss of one of mine.

I bookmarked this so I can come back and look at how you did it. I have a catwalk, but it is falling apart and needs to be re-built.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to take pics. With all the cat lovers at DU, who knows how many of cat structures you will inspire.

Was "Elevations" from Home Depot, the same kind used by catsondeck.com - I used hardware cloth (http://m.lowes.com/pd/Blue-Hawk-24-in-x-5-ft-Silver-Galvanized-Steel-Hardware-Cloth/50017402) to reinforce the landings and ramps. Go with the smaller u-shaped nails, they're strong enough and won't split the wood.

It was inspired by an episode of "My Cat From Hell" (not that Copernicus is a cat from hell, but he does enjoy watching it) where a couple was given an enclosure from catsondeck.com. Way above my price range, so I built something similar.
