Pets
Related: About this forumI might be getting a granddog!
I will probably go my whole life without ever having a dog. Couldn't have pets growing up, but thankfully my late MIL was a crazy cat lady and she taught her son well, so we've always had cats. DH, however, is not fond of dogs.
Just found out that my daughter and her family are going to have a "trial weekend" with a dog who needs a home, and if it works out they'll keep her! Millie is a 6-year old Labradoodle, 40 lbs (thankfully more poodle sized than Lab sized), house trained, well behaved, good with little kids. She's pretty high energy and needs a lot of walks and exercise, which her very busy current family (who also have young kids) just don't have time for now.
My daughter and her husband have 2 little kids, almost 5 (and super excited about getting a dog!) and just turned 1. My SIL is a stay-home dad so he can take Millie for long walks with the little guy in the stroller while the big one's at preschool or she can walk too. I sure hope it works out for them and can't wait to meet her myself. Of course Mom-Mom will be on-call to babysit when needed.
Does anyone know anything about this (designer) breed? Are they really good with little kids? Is my grandson, just turned 1, too young for a dog?
