We usually go to bed between 1:00-2:00am and read until about 3:00. We get up at about 11:00am (so I can feed the dogs and they can get their insulin shots). We also have a 'last call' for all the dogs just before we go to bed - which means everyone out and do your final business.

However, our old dog Maggie has her own internal alarm and SHE has to go at some time between 7:00-7:30am. I've gotten very good at not quite waking up. Just stumbling to the front door, opening it, propping the storm door closer to keep it open far enough for a dag, and stumbling back to bed, never really quite waking up.

So, yet. You wake up when the dog(s) tell you to wake up.

Then he dives into the nice warm sweet spot we made.

It's a very warming way to wake up, looking right at a fur pal who couldn't wait for you to open your eyes.
