Related: About this forumWell, poor little Mollie peed on the bed this morning.
Not her fault. Either my husband or I closed the door after going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I woke up feeling something warm and wet on my Butt.
Thank gawd for mattress protector. Husband took Mollie and put her in a litter box incase she had to do more and I stripped the bed and myself threw everything in the washer and then jumped into the shower...
Things we shrug off for the love of our Furbabies.

(4,033 posts)We have 5 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and in the last 2 years we have had exactly ONE 'accident' in the house and that was absolutely our fault. We misread what the barking at 4:00am really meant. When I got up and found the puddle on the floor I didn't say a word. Just cleaned it up.
Before that it was over 5 years ago that we had an 'accident'. We had the same 'accident' three nights in a row. Off to the vet. Diabetes. Insulin. Over 5 years later our Bosley is almost 15 and still going strong.

(3,547 posts)When there's a mess in the house, it is nearly always MY fault - or for reasons beyond the dogs' control. If I'm working twelve hour shifts, for example, it can be very hard for the older dog to hold on.
I just sigh and clean it up. He is absolutely "house-trained" and uses our "potty" walk times appropriately. But he is almost twelve years old now and can't hold it like he used to.
The puppy on the other hand? He must have a bladder made of some kind of magical stuff! He's never ONCE had an accident in the house from the moment he was house trained. And he caught on to that within one week of living with me.

(17,276 posts)You never know when one of the cats could accidentally push the door shut all the way. The stuffed animal is kind to human toes which might walk by in the dark!
