Cats must have the amino acid called 'taurine' in their diet; dogs can actually make their own taurine. A cat eating food deficient in taurine can develop severe heart disease and other health problems. Almost all cat foods now contain added taurine. Cats require a different form of Vitamin A than dogs do.

All they have to give is love, and they give it ALL. Lucky animals, they found a very loving, welcoming home. I do not know who is luckiest, them or YOU!!

PLEASE feed your kitten CAT food. It shouldn't be eating dog food.

Also, cats are obligate carnivores and need a TON of protein. Depending on the dog food, there might not be quite enough protein for the kitten.

But she eats with the golden as well as for pics. You have to go thru tumblr and I'm not sure how to do that. The dogs just ran to back fence barking at a deer and the kitten followed so my theory that she has decided to become a dog is starting to hold.

And thank you so much for taking the little one in. Please post pics if you can - I think it would bring a smile to many here who could use one!

About the only thing they wouldn't eat as kittens was kitten food...they went to adult food almost immediately. But they do need food designed for their nutritional needs, so if the kitty won't eat kitten food, try that. My cats poke around the dogs' bowls, but their primary food source is cat food.

But yeah, your kitty probably things she's a golden! It sounds like you have quite a menagerie. I had a Newf/German Shepard mix growing up. She was awesome.

She does get kitten chow and we do have a crew. The dogs just ran to back fence to bark at a deer and the kitten followed. So maybe she does think she is a dog being cat really was not working for her , I took her vets she had bad eye sinus infection but the antibiotics clearing her up.
