Bailee:

We are five days post. She hates her comfort cone so I've kept it off her while I am home. She seems to be laying down on her surgical side. Strange.. she will not flip over! I've tried and she goes back to laying in her stitch side! GRRRR!

No blood or anything... she's been eating and drinking some. No pain pills for the last few days. Go back to the vet in two weeks. Hope all is well at that point!

in order to feel less vulnerable.

Trust Bailee to instinctively know what is most comfortable for her.

She gave us tramadol.

She took it for the first two days because I felt like she needed it. She whined when trying to get off the couch or get off the bed. She's better though and has not done that in a few days.

This evening I was finally able to grab her and look at the stitches. They look good and I see no blood or tearing.

I called the vet earlier, haven't heard back but her tech says that it's normal for her to want to "protect" her hurt area and it should be fine unless there is bleeding or obvious discomfort.

You guys are so smart!
