10. The first 3 Bassetts got there at their own speeds, genially, the rest were on an Easter Egg Hunt!

You could see they were taking in the ambiance!

How could anyone not love them all?

11. They're their own boss, and their stubbornness can be a handful - but in return you get so much love

I found Bassets to be incredibly warm and affectionate - a lot like a Bulldog. They genuinely enjoy quality time with the people in their lives, and will let you know!

Bassets are also great around small kids - cats as well. Children can pester a Basset all they want, and all they're likely to get a groans and maybe some sugar.

They're real characters (like many of us on DU, I suspect!).

I like watching doggies like that go down a flight of stairs. Watching from behind, that is. Hilarious! We have a very fat kitty who makes us laugh every time he "bunnys" downstairs. Looks like a big fat rabbit going lope-de-lope-de-lope, and it cracks me up every time! You CANNOT stay mad or sad when you see something like that.

That's a Corgi with a good head on his tiny shoulders, and a new aroma on his shoulder and back.

Also saw the Corgi who cartwheeled as he ran, and never missed a step. Not a quitter.

Thank you, shenmue.
