A cat had kittens on my back porch, but now has moved them. I suspect they're not on our property any longer. Mama cat had a collar and tag, and after a lot of coaxing I was able to read the tag. We tried to reach the person we thought was the owner, but he wouldn't return calls. I did some searching and found his Facebook account and there were pictures of the cat with a previous batch of kittens. He said he was taking them all to the shelter, but I kinda suspect that they just got dumped on this side of town. I just can't imagine why he didn't take off the tag with his number on it.

Mama cat comes here to eat and has become very friendly. A couple of days ago I replaced the tag on her collar with another that says "I have kittens" and my own phone number. I just didn't want her trapped and taken away when she's got young kittens. I've been hoping that if she does have a home in the neighborhood they'll give me a call. I'd really like her to bring the kittens back so I can take the whole bunch and get them spayed/neutered and get them their shots. I don't have a lot of confidence that'll happen.

This is a cat rescue in Ohio. They have almost a kind of cult following. The cats have pretty much free run of the place and they are especially fun to watch when the humans aren't around.
