Anyone ever use rover.com to visit their cat while they were gone?

I understand the pet sitter will visit the animal several times a day. Any of y’all ever used it?

Can you leave for, say, 30 days, and everything is taken care of like food and litter cleaning?

especially concerning inside pets with full house access.
Best thing prior to this is to install security cameras and automatic door locks so you can track entry/exit.

2. yes. I have used it quite often

and you get a wide mixture of applicants.
from people just cherry picking for the best gigs,
to those just wanting a quick buck with no work ethics,
and to careless ones who will leave your door unlocked.
I am not saying that they are all like that, but to enroll on Rover is an easy process and be careful who you choose.

the most reliable applicants I have found are serious university students with a work ethic. But then they are not available year round and you must work with their schedule.

I would hope there are more qualified people than the moonlighters but please take care and extra precaution.
Certainly conduct a thorough interview with a check of references.

Even then, you never know.

I am at the mercy of pet sitters because of my pack of rescues and I travel all the time.
Right now I do have a reliable sitter, I pay her too much, actually more than market rate but she is a reliable PHD student in veterinary school going for her second degree. She is from Rover.

But she is charging a premium rate.
