Grateful for Hope

It's been a long time since I've posted here

Way back when I posted here under hope2006 (screenname changed after the 2008 election).

I decided to give back to DU by modding for nearly three years, and it was very demanding. As a consequence, I didn't post anywhere else outside of the mod tub for quite some time.

But...

I still have my beloved two feline boys Jake and Spidey.

Spidey is still velcro-boy and Jake is now very much more affectionate than he was when I first adopted him.

I hope you guys will welcome me back!

I am sorry I haven't responded sooner. So, you have a 'Jake' too. I think it is a darling name for a boy feline.

they had been calling him "Jane" (maybe because he is silver-blue-gray). We kept the first syllable because he responded to his name (although with attitude) and he likes the new variation just fine. Probably because there is no snarkiness in the way WE say it. He's a big, muscular boy with an unquenchable taste for raw meat and fish, all boy all the time. Dunno why they called him by a girl's name, but I agree that Jake is a fabulous name for a k-boy. No apologies needed--we're just glad you're back!

The server I had them stored on went away, along with my pics. I will take some again (promise).

They are both tuxedos, although Spidey is very long-haired and meows like a kitten. Jake's body build resembles the Siamese build (and meows like one), so they are very different from each other.

Before my modding, I posted a lot here. I love this group.
,
Caviat: I wanted to walk my boys on a leash, and I read all about it and finally decided to purchase a highly recommended cat leash. Turned out that Spidey wasn't having it and never would (he laid down everytime I tried the leash with him and I couldn't budge him). Jake, on the other hand, loved it and we took walks that he really liked. I took some photos and then...

I was reading the 9/11 forum and forgot where I was and I posted a pic of Jake walking on the leash. When I realized what I had done,
I wrote to the mods of that forum asking them to remove my thread. I got a response that said that my post was 'refreshing' and the mods was not going to remove it.

The responses to that thread were priceless!
