When they meow to go out to the porch I open the door and start counting. They know the door shuts on three and it doesn’t matter what side they are on. It’s funny to watch CJ run for the door when I get to two.

She would look out, hesitate, "Hmmm...do I really want to go out, or stand here looking and aggravate the hooman?" When I started counting, she'd edge out, and on three, out she'd go!

We would always tell him when we were going out, where we were going, and when we would be home.

I miss my sweet Riley so much. We haven't moved his bed out of the living room yet. Not ready to bring another dog into the family just yet.

My condolences for your sweet Riley. Hugs.

I empathize - my pups were and are family. My heart still breaks for the ones gone. Somehow, after a few long yrs, I always adopt another another one because I'm just not happy without a wagging tail and a cold nose near me.

Wishing you peace.

Their questions are simple, let me out to go to the toilet, feed me, can I share your bed?
The tone of their miouw and their body language says it all.
My cat licks the back of my head at 5 am, amazing how fast that wakes me up. It's always 'I need to go out to the toilet!'

But sometimes, it's just 'Hello, how are you? Nice to see you!'

I am not going to say a cat can't understand someone talking to them. Two showed up to say good bye and the other showed up to collect his best buddy so they could be together. NO, I am not nuts. my father and stepfather also showed up after they passed. My daughter also saw my father.

On Saturday and Sunday she will meow outside my bedroom door until my husband gets up. Iher meow sounds like get up. My neighbor and sister think my cat is very smart. When I make my bed in the am and I say get off the bed so I can make it the cats meows a definite no and refuses to get off. So I make the bed around her and then come back and finish.

She is by far the smartest cat I have ever owned.

Talked up a storm, she passed away in Dec

My new Kitty won't quit talking, she's a 1.5 yo rescue that's a patched Torbie, which is a Tortoishell with white patches and tabby stripes

I've never known a cat to talk as much as she does, if her bowl is near empty at 3 am she will wake me up to tell me

I was thinking of a name but she gave it to herself, being a tornado of destruction mayhem and shrapnel as she is

She is "TAZ" after the female Tasmanian Devil in the old cartoons

Now if she would only listen....
