Related: About this forumHave any of you tried re-usable pee pads?
I had been ordering disposable pads from Walmart. The last time I went online to order I noticed they had re-usable ones and decided to give them a try. I really like them. I ordered two packs of two each. When I get 3 dirty ones I put them in the washer with detergent and clorox as suggested. They come out smelling fresh with some lingering clorine smell, but not too bad. I let her use them until she has wet about four times. I just rotate them whenever I notice she has peed. I spray them with deordorizer after she pees and they don't make the bathroom smell like urine.
Have any of you tried them? What did you think? Any hints of things I haven't thought about doing?

(9,067 posts)...we use the pee pads, but the bathroom floor mat seem to be "similar" to one of our schnauzers. At this point, we just wash it with bleach. We've been calling it a reusable pee pad for a while now.

(522 posts)They are bulky so take up most of the washer. I line dry them because I am afraid the heat of the dryer might damage the plastic backing.

(7,412 posts)My bathroom, his bathroom and the area by the back door where we put the garbage to go down to the bins.
I had a pad at each location but he still prefers going on newspapers so I had to replace the pad in my bathroom with the papers.
He loves to "go" in there - I pick it up after 2 uses but I feel guilty for putting them in the landfill!
I may try to go back to the pad...
They wash up well and I think were at 4+ years
