The cats just don't recognize dog sign language.

I want them to chase the possums away, but they just give them a sideways look as if to say, "Well, that's a weird looking cat."

(947 posts)6. I think cats & possums have a pact worked out...
They, as a species, have made their peace a long time ago.
My cats just ignore the possums. We have a little baby possum, seriously cannot be more than 8" long, and he eats out of our recycling bin. My kitties will sit right beside him, just watching...not a concern in the world.
I like possums. They eat a ton of ticks in a day...they can stay.

He seems to be really into being chased? Cats love to chase and he's begging them to do this.
