My poor boy (continued)

So my buddy came home on Monday morning. Mrs. Glam decided to work from home that day, so she went and picked him up first thing. I’d have had to wait until lunch and he hates kennels...

So he got home and brother, he’s been fucked up since. Like seriously, fucked up. He’s hammered. Like he’s drunk. This phenalbarbitol regiment. I don’t man. Two vets said it could be two weeks before he’s acclimated to it. Seems like the cure is worse than the condition. He’s dazed. He’s glassy eyed. He wobbles and stumbles just standing in place.

And even better, over night my precious boy was transformed into a soft serve chocolate ice cream machine. Oh yeah, he’s leaving big samples of chocolate pudding all over the house. I spent most of last night behind the Bissel rug doctor. Today I watched him like a hawk...when I could. I did have to work. He snuck out of the office three times and left 3 more messes. My poor boy.

Don’t get me wrong, while cleaning up runny dog shit isn’t exactly my idea of a fun hobby,he’s worth it. It’s killing me to see him so out of it and confused. I hope he gets used to this soon...

Mr. Ohiogal had a black Lab (before we met) that was on phenalbarbitol for seizures. Pretty much made the dog sleep 24/7.

It’s so difficult to see them suffer/acting strange. I,too, hope Mighty Zep returns to normal soon!

Everything is just so strange nowadays, isn’t it?

That said, call your vet about administering it to your pup.

An ex-roommate's guide dog had a very sensitive stomach, and anything could set off "the squirts" for him. But the Imodium worked well.

If you can't (or hate to) pill, even though it's tiny, a small piece of chicken or cheese took it right down. There is also a liquid available...

I hope he gets better soon. Maybe he's been up and stressed while he was away and after a good sleep at home, he might do better tomorrow. Being home with his peeps is healing in itself.

But he seems like he’s on an 18 pack instead of a whole case plus a few shots. Of course, the day I take him to the vet, his squirts clear up.

But hey I’ll take it!
