Anyone use Golden Paste for your dog and cats?

I need a crash course. I’ve got a recipe, but is there any of good quality that’s available for purchase?

Anyone use it and have feedback on the effectiveness? Specifically, anyone use it with cats?

Thanks in advance!

I am hoping some DU’ers have experience with it. I’ve heard about it for years but never tried it myself.

3. The patented veterinary formula ingredients are tested for heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, etc.

The turmeric spice itself can be very contaminated. The 'golden paste recipe' is not completely harmless in all health problems your pet may be experiencing. It's best to ask your vet first.

5. I wouldn't give ''golden paste'' to my dogs. I prefer standardized extract veterinary formulas

with the dosage matched to the weight of the dog/cat.

When you reach the point where “standardized” is no longer helping, you investigate all alternatives. Thus my question.

Thank you for your insight but I’m interested in feedback from someone with experience using it - good or bad.

9. Sorry, just noticed your post. Here's my opinion on Golden Paste: YES! When my horse had

sarcoid cancer almost 4 years ago I explored everywhere and came upon TUG, the FB tumeric user group. It's authority is a vet from New Zealand, I think. I started my horse on GP for his cancer and got really good results but the results weren't consistent, meaning he didn't stay on the continued path to wellness. I started including (in separate dosing) some 1:1 (marijuana oil) and that's what put him over the top. What I found is that once they look healthy you must continue to dose for another month otherwise relapse will occur. Sometimes a relapse will be a few months later. He recovered from his cancer so I no longer feed him 1:1 but I still give him Golden Paste everyday -- 4 years later.

I also have a Rhody/Boxer who suddenly showed up with a black 1/4 inch size raised lump on his foreleg about 2 years ago. Vet couldn't say what it was without biopsy. Not! Started feeding him GP daily and in about 2 months the lump reduced in size to about the size of a pencil eraser and became flush with his skin. The lump is gone but the black spot is still there, however he's no longer bothered by it.

I use extra virgin olive oil when making GP but am thinking about switching to coconut oil.

They also get liquid maritime pine bark everyday.

You must add black pepper or turmeric doesn't work and you must use oil as a carrier.

I buy an organic 2 oz bottle of ground turmeric, cook that slowly about 7 minutes in 8 oz of water. After cools, I add 2 T ground black pepper and 1/3C oil -- sometimes I add a bit more water, too. Store in fridge. My horse gets about 2T/day, and when the dog gets it it's about 1t day (90 lb. dog). Mix into their food.

I have also used the GP as a paste applied to the cancer on my horse.

Hope this helps and is not too late.

It definitely helps.

I have two very elderly cats that have both pretty much exhausted all conventional veterinary care can offer them. My goal is to keep them as comfortable and happy for as long as they have quality of life. I love them both dearly.

I’ve had them on GP for about a week and I’ve seen promising appetite increase in one. I think the anti-inflammatory components of GP have made him just feel a bit better, and therefore, he’s more willing to eat.

Thank you again.

I found it extremely effective as an anti-cancer fighter and its associated inflammation. If you think your cats have a GI problem I would suggest slippery elm bark powder. Easy to feed and tastes good. In separate doses you can give SEB with GP. If they're aged are they on canned food only? Are their teeth OK? Wish you luck. CBD oil may help and you don't need a marijuana card to purchase.

12. Good to know.

Good to know as to your experience with GP for arthritis. Some people are reporting success so I guess it’s individual.

I’ve been in cat rescue for over 35 years and our kiddos have the benefit of an awesome vet. Yes, they are of course on wet food and yes, of course, they’ve had their teeth addressed. They are already on good quality CBD.

Unfortunately, they are simply at an age where we can tell their bodies are wearing out. Our goal is quality of life for them and we are willing to try any reasonable means to let them have that for as long as they are able.

Thanks again for your input. Very valuable.
