That’s a seriously smart dog, and if he/she barked at the Sheriff, I would become suspicious and back the dog.

We got him from the shelter in Miami a long time ago. He's probably about 15 now. The shelter thought he might be Rough Collie and Chow mix. He's been my 'executive assistant' since I had to start working from home. He might actually be some sort of pure bred dog because I've seen stock photos of other dogs that look like him, but I have no idea what breed that might be.

That’s definitely shepherding behavior. He’s telling those younger dogs what to do. Powerful, short, sharp bark. He doesn’t quite look like an Aussie in that vid. The hair is a little too long, but I would swear he had some Aussie in him based upon coloring, curled tail, longish hair, behavior, and bark. The muzzle isn’t quite long enough for a “standard” Aussie, but I bet that’s a GREAT dog, and I know you will miss him far too soon.
