Related: About this forumNever thought I'd be in one of those "two-dog families"...
And yet here we are.
You might already know Rosie on the left. The new guy on the right is Jasper.

(24,259 posts)Rosie is a gorgeous girl and I'm sure Jasper and her will be great pals soon if not already.
There's nothing wrong with having two or more. We crossed that line with dogs and cats long long ago.

(16,254 posts)What a sweet face and perky ears. Good choice.

(63,645 posts)He's a rescue, probably a mix of some kind. We're hoping our veterinarian might have a guess.
Frustratedlady
(16,254 posts)They always believed that the best family dogs were mixes. Better personality and less medical problems than purebreds. Of course, there might be one breed in the mix that messes things up, but generally speaking...
Enjoy!

(2,711 posts)Should you think you're not a three dog family, once you get three, it doesn't matter if you have six!

(12,744 posts)Three and four weren't bad, Five became unmanageable. We ended up having to surrender one when we had five because of constant fights. It was the hardest thing I've done.

(114,682 posts)Dogs are intensely social animals and they need somebody around when their people are MIA working or shopping or whatever. Even a cat will provide some company, but another dog is better.

(8,819 posts)When we had one dog and I wanted two, my husband was against it. For a long time. Then I thought to myself, "He's not going to divorce me over a dog."
I was right. Since then, we've always had two dogs: Kelly and Abby, Abby and Jack, Jack and Chloe, and now Chloe and Blake. It's really wonderful.
Congratulations and enjoy.
