Related: About this forumI'm terribly heartbroke....Continued. Thank you DU!
Just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the kind, comforting words you all offered. It was a miserable day yesterday. A few hours after returning from the vet, I logged in and saw your replies. Some of your messages moved me to laughter, some moved me to tears (in a good way). To say I felt your good vibes is an understatement. You all helped us end a terrible day on a higher note and we are forever grateful. Thanks DU! You're the best! Love you all....

(14,289 posts)I've lost many dear furry friends and it never gets easier to let them go. The good thing is they never let YOU go. They are always in your heart and memories and sometimes around your space.
Sending hugs.

(73,425 posts)the first time they waddle across the room, and you can tell it hurts.
my 9yo bullie dog has decided he needs the light on to go down stairs after dark.
the goodbye can be so long.
the only flaw in the dog is that they dont last nearly long enough.
i think that all dogs are bohdisatva, and they want one more short turn on the wheel, so they come back as dogs.
but that doesnt make it an easier.
friends to share your grief, tho, that helps.

(7,525 posts)It hurts bad. Why? Because you loved so much. Zep knows that.
If you were an a**hole, it wouldnt bother you at all.
We got your back, and your love for Zep is one reason why.

(24,646 posts)Im very sorry for your loss, Glam. These perfect creatures that come and go throughout our lives dont live long enough. They just dont. But, between hello and goodbye...there is so much love. Please accept my condolences.

(12,182 posts)Our Cairn is coming up 13, and has had pancreatitis, so I know our day of reckoning isn't far off. It may be a couple of years, but it will seem like a blink when it's over.
We all just have to trust that we gave our pets a great life, and realize they put life into us. Words are nowhere near enough, but I'm terribly sorry, and saddened.
