Returned to them. Also, BLM isn't as finicky as they should be as to who gets to adopt them. I've read about a ranch in OK that just loads them up for slaughter in Mexico.

This horsewoman is wonderful, but not all are. It feels to me that horses don't have as much support for bettering their lives as cats and dogs do.
