Is winding down, so I'm on the prowl for a new friend. I'm intrigued by yours.

Does he/she shed much?

It was under similar circumstances that we acquired her. Our now-previous part-Greyhound, Sandy, was winding down also. My wife found Shadow through a local pet rescue group when she was six weeks of age. The old dog was not happy about the intrusion at first, but they got to playing soon thereafter.

And soon after that Sandy walked out from her kennel dragging her left front paw, a look of confusion on her pretty face. We placed Shadow in the kennel and drove Sandy to the vets that day. The doc diagnosed some sort of paralysis that was treatable, but would have been costly and no real improvement in Sandy's quality of life. We made the difficult decision to have her put down right then and there. And interred her on the farm property.

Three and a half years later, Shadow has been the joy of our lives. We're retired and get to invest lots of time with her. She loves to run and run and chase her well-used Jolly Ball and snatch it up, run it back to the thrower and play keep-away. We have especially enjoyed her coming to maturity. Gone are the days of chewed up blankets and socks. If you're of a mind to look, there are photos of her in this group and in the Photography group.

Thinking of Sandy and your English Springer Spaniel it is hard to witness a beloved dog get old. Some people never do choose to get another. But we needed to.

So glad we did.

I hope you find whom you are looking for.
