Does your pet have a favorite song?

I've recently discovered that my cat, Otis, loves it when I sing "Under the Milky Way." I was singing along (wearing headphones) and he suddenly stopped playing with his toy and jumped on my lap and started purring and rubbing my face. He does nothing when I sing anything else. It happens every time. I love cats. So weird.

3. My last dog loved anything that got her mama dancing. She'd join in with great zeal!

Loved her just as all my furry babes, but that was our special "thing".

8. I had an awesome tuxedo cat named Howie (short for Hell On Wheels) that loved it

during Christmastime when "Run Run Rudolph" came on and I'd pick him up and we'd dance. I admit that I even played it occasionally at other times of the year just because he enjoyed it so much, lol. He's been gone about 8 years now and I still miss him. What a character. He truly lived up to his name.

5. Our departed cat Dazzle hated music

Super sweetie would bat at you and yowl. We don't know why. He was a rescue like all our cats. We miss him.

6. Our late cat Sam, who looked like yours, loved God Bless America

You could pretty much drive all the cats out of the room with Barbra Streisand if you needed to.

13. My Otis is 20 pounds of attitude and I'm crazy about him.

I got him as a 5-week-old, tiny rescue and he knew I was his person immediately. I got him from a woman at the university I worked at and she brought him to the office for me to take home that night. He hung out there most of the day but only would cuddle with me. I named him Otis after the elevator because he'd zip up and down my legs when he was little. Thank heavens he grew out of it. I'd be shredded wheat by now.

16. :-) My late Otis was a ragdoll mix. I adopted him from

A shelter. He required two major surgeries shortly thereafter. But he was always a complete lovey boy, to everyone except vets. He was also a great foster uncle to many foster kittens and cats. He passed in 2010 and I still think of him every day.

I named him after Otis of Otisburg, from the Superman movies.

10. I don't sing around the house,

but both of my dogs are completely oblivious to music being played or the TV unless it's the sound of a dog barking.

11. Rustle

Liked the song Clocks by Coldplay.

He would stop what ever he was doing and sit by the speakers and listen Everytime.

He also got up in my lap if I sang it.

When he died I sang Clocks one last time.

Cats I have had over the years love it when music is on. Rustle was the only one who liked a particular song.

He liked Coldplay in general too. He knew which CD was the Coldplay one.

14. My shelter rescue, Zelda, obviously lived with a singer.

She would immediately run to singing. Her favorite song was HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Really.

15. Song, maybe, but I do know my dogs enjoy

Bob Marley when my wife and I go out. We just tell Alexa to play some bob marley from Amazon prime and the dogs are calmer than when we donít.

17. One of my cats likes a few musicians

Itís an eclectic bunch: The Stones, Joe Walsh, War, and Dr. Dre. I can tell when he likes something because he will headbutt the speaker side of my iPad. I think it has something to do with certain voices??

I wish we could post video clips from our camera rolls! I have one of him head butting while Dre is rapping, and then leaving when Snoop starts.

19. My dog sure does.

When I sing to her, "lets go for a walk."

The older I get, the less music I have in the house. I have come to appreciate silence as a music of its own.

That said, every once in a while, I have to crank up the old Victrola VII, or put Santana on the box. In fact, now that you mention it, I will see how Stela likes Soul Sacrifice.

Gooshy-food!

They run to their bowls.
