Related: About this forumOur Paint Mare Maddie got "pulsed" the other day.
She received a treatment of "Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy."
The magnetic pulses loosened her tight muscles and gave good relaxation.
After her session, Maddie felt notably better.

(5,420 posts)Whenever my wife would place a saddle on Maddie, the mare tensed up and seemed to take awhile to loosen up while being ridden. But she never really got "pain free." The pulse practitioner found Maddie's whole body to be stiff and hard and her muscles responded, relaxed during treatment.

(8,445 posts)I used to take my dog to the vet twice a week for a treatment like that for arthritis on his back. He just loved it, and it really seemed to help him.

(23,091 posts)Glad she was able to get relief.
Our now deceased dog had horrible back/joint problems, could hardly move. Vet got in some new tech, K-lasers, and Bud had 6 treatments and got over a year more of mobility through it. We cherished every day after that because they were all a bonus.
Edit - fixed typo

(23,091 posts)He had the most beautiful soul I've ever known, lover of everything other than the super annoying dog next door that hates everything. Bud was half Catahoulan and half Siberian and loved to howl. EVery time we'd come home, we'd be greeted with a couple of barks, then lots of howls. He'd howl until we came in the house and howled with him - it was our pack thing. Of course, skritchings were required as well.

(5,420 posts)I "googled" Catahoulan Husky mix and found good photos. Bud must have been beautiful on the outside too. I know about mandatory skritchings Shadow positions herself accordingly, no mistaking what she's looking for.
Any chance you have a picture of him to share?

(23,091 posts)I backed up my phone, but the pix aren't going to the computer where I can find them. My husbands' phone is backed up and I can access his photos, but they are in no order and there are hundreds. He took lots of Bud pix back in the day, so hope I can find a good one.
Bud wasn't really pretty, he was just a big old mutt colored dog, despite his heritage. He did have cracked eyes, so those were really cool. Bud's strength was in his heart, he was the biggest love dog I have ever known. He made 3 and 4 year old cats into his besties and calmed down a beaten dog to where he could live with a family (us) and not be terrified all the time. He was Astros' emotional support pal.
Let me see what I can find.

(86,536 posts)Caring for horses, I had no idea such treatments were a thing! I'm glad it is something available to help her.
I love her markings and the fringe-like edges on the dark spots. Pretty girl!

(31,979 posts)And she seems to be so happy to be relieved from her pain! Awwww.
I echo the post here about horses and horse people. (I recently spent the afternoon with my horse-loving friend.). She said she would go crazy without her big buddies. They truly are such wonderful animals. I can tell from your posts you must feel the same way!

I'll tell you that a lot of things ran through my mind at that. Your.....tinge unit story helps create clarity.

(37,449 posts)the 16 horses in my care were the happiest when they were unsaddled. Some hot afternoons I'd take the older experience riders out w/o saddling the horses to the nearby lake. Everyone had a good time especially the horses.
MY PT used that on me for about 6 months. I know how she feels.
