You say goodbye, and I say hello......

Our Muddy passed recently. Been a little over a month now. Broke my heart. I was supposed to call to have someone come to the house and put him down....I couldn't bring myself to do it. He got really bad over the following weekend and passed naturally. I'll never be able to forgive myself for not giving him the mercy he deserved. If I could have forseen what he was going to go through those last two days, I'd have made the call. But he was my buddy and I hoped for the best. Shame on me. RIP Muddy.

But we rescued one yesterday. Added another boy to the fold!

No name just yet. He's quite submissive/scared. Just hanging out in his cat carrier. Although, he did come out and burrow under the covers with me for a while last night. Probably gonna end up following the music theme we've had for a while. We had a Zeppelin and a Muddy. We have a Steviewonder, a Bootsy Collins, and a Sweet Judy Blue Eyes.

Elton? Freddie (Mercury), The Hook (John Lee Hooker), Chester (Howlin Wolf), Bowie are some of the names we're kicking around at the moment.

That somewhere over the rainbow bridge - Muddy is telling another beloved non-human - Glamrock loved me so much, they let me hang on a few more days.

Stevie Ray, I dunno.

Sorry that Muddy has passed, it always kills me when a pet goes, it usually hurts more than when people go.

Will help ease some of that pain. I was just rushed out of my sweet digs last month by asshole real estate agents*, they robbed me of my lifestyle and the kitty I was involved with while there. It hurts a lot. I go to visit him, his human and I are still on good terms, but I cry every time I leave, and he tries to keep me from going by laying down behind my car or clinging to me like a baby kitten does when you try to set them down. It's hard.

*Long story.

…it is right. At least 3 times, cats that we have been about to take to the vet have “beat us to it,” so to speak, and I have been grateful for that.

The new little guy is beautiful - look like a snowshoe, I think. Any music groups with snow in the name?

There is something extra special about blue-eyed cats. Sort of like there’s a little human inside looking out at you.

Hello, Goodbye was written by Paul and John. So you got those -or- Lennon or Macartney.

On a different track, nobody seems to love Jellyfish like you. Maybe Jelly does the trick.

Again, great cat, super cute.

My daughters little Pit got cancer and deteriorated fast. She looked pitiful but wanted to play but you knew she was in pain. I thought the visit would be best. She brought her over to my home and we all, my dogs too, held and loved on her for hours before the vet. It was so so hard to first immobilize her then hold her, and my daughter, as they slowly injected the drug as she went limp. That hurts me now 7 months later. But, it was the best way to do it. My daughter now has 2 one year old adopted cats, a 8 month rescue Shepherd from pup age and 3 weeks ago got a small 2 month old pit. Her home is filled back up with love, but always remembering her first little one. Emmy lost her mom to cancer when she was 10. She’s now 31 but I was so afraid of her emotions losing her first dog to cancer. Fill your heart with love from and for the new babies. That is the healing. Best wishes to you.

A paraplegic cat who lived to be 17. He had charcoal fur and a silver undercoat. Looks like Muddy was the same - he was a handsome boy!

Condolences for your loss and happiness and joy to you for the new arrival. He’ll earn his name soon enough, lol!!

Based on the date on the picture she was your pal for 17 years. And I would think........."No Name" is Muddy's reincarnation. She loved you so much she just had to come back.

I had a beautiful black cat named Spooky. Loved her to bits.
Currently have a cat who is 15. I'm dreading the day, but enjoying every day I have with her.

We just rescued a black cat last September. He was sleeping under cars in the parking lot of the warehouse where I work. That made me think of Motorhead, so I named him Lemmy, aka Mister Killy-kill. We took him to the vet and found out he was about 10 years old. He was very sick with all kinds of infections and had to have all but his two lower fangs pulled out. He's enjoying pate every day now and likes to play with toys. He also sits and begs like a dog for roast beef or steak or any kind of red meat. Good luck with your new cat and sorry for the passing of Muddy. We never really know what's the right call at the end. All we can do is try our best.

Your Muddy looks so much like my Spot. Sadly, he passed this last year at the ripe old age of 20. Amazing how those little creatures take up so much space in our hearts.
