(12,463 posts)He is an anxious kitty
This calms him down.
Tried the tranquilizing treats and he won't touch them, tried every brand I could get.
I don't want to put him on kitty prozac if I can help it. Holding him down to swallow a pill would be very upsetting for him.
It would take a big bite out of my limited income.
For now he's wearing his thundershirt.
And it is working.
He is so much better.

(57,073 posts)Tried it on our stoic kitty with no results, but vet said it is quite helpful.
Expensive though - just over $50/month. And you would need a compounding pharmacy to mix it.
All that said, Othello is quite a handsome fellow & you captured him beautifully in these pix.

Wish there was a organization that would help poor people with their pets.
I hate how the rich get everything and we who are poor/ working poor are barely holding on financially.
We can't afford billionaires. There should be progressive taxation, the rich must be reigned in and limited.

Othello is probably better off without chemicals in his system anyway, imo. 👍
Is he a young kitty? If so, he may well mellow with age.
I love your idea for a non-profit to help with med costs for those with low incomes! It could be as simple as shelters & rescues soliciting donations for those with $ to sponsor an adoptee, although they would probably prefer to keep all donations.
