I just sent off a foster kitten

It’s always hard letting go of a foster, even if they’re going to a good home. This little one came to us stinking and underweight from living in a cat hoard. Four months later, we’re sending a sleek, healthy, spayed cat off to a good home. Fostering is a wonderful thing except for the part where you have to let them go.

5. It's been a week since I sent two fosters off to Chicago. I still miss them

I still have their siblings, who have enhanced my life to such a great degree, but, yea, I miss that mob of mewing kittens greeting me every morning, and snuggling up on my lap for a nap. But they have a great home and a great mom so all is good. And, frankly, I barely have lap enough for the two I kept!
