I fear I'm the meanest, most feline abusing hooman on the planet, today.

First I traumatize Sophie by giving her a flea bath. She's disappeared. Then I had to do another poop removal from Morgan's butt, and attempt a hair trim. She was in pure Halloween Cat screeching mode. Madoc became SO concerned he scaled a 4' barrier to come to her rescue. And now he's determined that, since he did it once, he can do it again so I've had to raise it, AGAIN. To get his revenge, Madoc is attacking my gardening shoes. Thankfully they aren't on my feet, right now.

A glass of Pinot Grigio isn't going to cut it, today. I think I'll mix a Manhattan. And I won't attempt another trim until I have some help.

Now to figure out how to make it up with Morgan.

It's been a cross between a circus and a rodeo, today. But, Morgan seems to have forgiven me.

2. The athletic ability of cats is quite amazing

Even when my cats were just three month old kittens, they had absolutely no problem jumping from the top of my desk to the top of the hutch on my desk, which is four feet.

When we had to catch them to take them for their spaying and neutering, I saw cat acrobatics like I'd never seen in my life. My then-husband had to put on welding gloves to grab them.

Like a wide receiver. I first saw that cat he was 30 feet up a tree. He’s grew to be huge but still very athletic, and can still snag a toy mouse when I throw it to him. He’s still not so good at throwing it back, though. If I hadn’t brought him inside, there wouldn’t have be a bird left in the yard

4. Snarf.. Many a mother in the 40s/50s used to give crying babies hot toddies for their "colds"....

Or so my late grandmother told me.

Yeah, that's the ticket. A hot toddy for their "cold." Sweet dreams, little ones.

(no, I don't advocate giving wee ones liquor)

10. Sophie sure settled in - on me!

She split her time sleeping, between a blanket 'nest' I put on the bed and on me. Back and forth. All night.

But, Morgan ate a good breakfast, this morning and I didn't have to spend as much time, as usual, re-directing Madoc back to his own bowl so they day is starting out good. Well, except for Madoc styling my hair. We have different ideas of what's acceptable on days, other than Halloween.

It really is funny how their personalities have switched. When I first brought them in, Morgan was definitely the alpha female of the litter. Aggressive and protective. Madoc was a little, scared and timid kitten. Now he's obviously the more dominant of the two, always instigating something, either against her or with her, against me! They are keeping me on my toes, that's for sure.

creatures. And you made it possible when you brought them in. I am so happy that Sophie slept with you, even though a bit restless. Here is to a wonderful day.
