I finally got my new boy out of his hiding place, and took him up to the shower room - just us two

At first he was back to finding a hiding place but there isn't one. So I put him on my lap and started scritching and talking really softly to him. Within about 5 minutes he was purring up a storm, giving me head butts, brushing up against me and giving me little kitten kisses and then started making biscuits on the rug!

I wish this photo was clearer but you get the idea

Here's a good pic

This one cracks me up. You can read all sorts of stuff into that facial expression

"parlor panther." I will have to remember that one. I've had four.

So sweet, Siwsan. I am so happy Madoc will have a "sibling."

Twyla is an adult cat now (about 14 months old) but has remained small at about 5lbs. She's absolutely perfect, all black (whiskers, fur, toebeans), and very graceful.

Give him and Madoc a couple days and they’ll be pals. Kittens are usually fine with other kittens.

I'm keeping him in the playroom, for now, so he can relax and decompress. I go up there and play with him.

My brother is stopping by to meet him and he'll give me the low down on the best way to handle introducing the kittens. He's done rescue and fostering work for years.

We used our laser pointer ( they were pretty new at that time) and they stopped hissing at each other and played together. The played happily for the next 18 years, and lost them both within 6 months of each other. I still miss them and it has been a few years.

I now have asthma and am allergic to cats, so seeing your posts is great fun.

She was black with smoky-gray accents.

In the last picture I see "ornery." Somebody looks like they're going to be a rambunctious kitten!

My guy went back to his original human today. Right now he's only ten minutes away but it was hard to come home and not have him here, I had to have a good cry though I was a mess before I even got to my place.

I think it's just still just a bit overwhelming for him.

If he's going to need to hide, for a while, I want to give him someplace like inside a kitty tower where he can feel safe while he adjusts, instead of cowering under the furniture.

He may have other ideas about that. Mikey is now in a really large house, he'll need to stay in for a couple days to get oriented, but he already knows everyone so he has an advantage there. He hid under my bed for the first few days here.

I'm hoping it will just be a few days of keeping an eye on where he goes. I'm just going to try and keep things as calm as possible.
