Gryff is a quirky little guy

Last week he seemed to lose his appetite, a bit, and wasn't very active or playful. I was snowed in so all I could do was keep an eye on him. It was the same behavior he displayed after his neutering.

Now he's back to his old self, and THEN some. Full of energy, gobbling down kibble. He seems to have taken over the role of chief wrestling match instigator and is back to either sleeping by my feet, or right next to my head. He's rolling over for belly scratches and I'm getting those great head nuzzles, again, too.

I wonder if part of the appetite thing was he didn't like the kibble I bought. He doesn't seem to care much for pate and really seems to prefer Meow Mix for Kittens so I went out and bought another bag. (Madoc will pretty much eat anything). So, maybe the energy thing was because he wasn't eating as much as usual? Or, maybe he's just an occasional moody adolescent.

To eat pate. He hates it.
He also hesitates to eat food in big chunks too. So if the food has big pieces in it I chop into finer pieces.
Than,he'll eat it.

The things we do for our sweet kitties..

IF she saw the bottom of the MIDDLE of the bowl, she'd stop eating. Then it turned to me having to sit with her through the whole meal.

I'm giving Gryff a little pate, but once I leave the room, I have no idea if he's eating it, or if Madoc is. When I had all 4 kittens, I CONSTANTLY had to keep watch over him and his brother because the liked to push their sisters away from their bowls. Madoc still does that with Gryff.

Yeah then he eats but leaves a thin layer of food on the bottom of the dish.

Glad I have 2 food bowls exactly the same I can switch out everyday.

Is to prevent whisker fatigue. Their whiskers are so sensitive.

Suddenly stopped eating his usual ration and got mopey, sitting in one spot all day and all night.

After a couple of weeks of him eating less and less, I got him in to the vet. Blood work, urine test, sound imaging.

$275 later, the vet told me every test came back normal.

I took him home, and the minute we got in the house, he ran to his food dish and cleaned it out. Started eating fine after that, and day by day got more active until we are back to normal.

Sometimes I think they are just messing with us.
