My midnight wake up call vs my 4am wake up call

Went to bed at 10, last night.

At midnight I was jarred awake by a small, furry, black and white predator relentlessly pouncing on me. After the THIRD attempt at admonishing and 'relocating' him from the bed he finally let me fall back to sleep. Until 4 when he and his brother purred and nuzzled me awake because they really wanted to have a snuggle fest.

They're lucky they are so cute.

I was lying on my side with my little wild child Celina-Bean on top of me. She was fast asleep with her head draped over the side of my head and her little chest was right on my ear. It was her heartbeat that I was hearing. Sometimes I don't see her for days because she loves being outside more than inside. She and her two brothers had feral parents, but we caught them as kittens. We still let them roam outside, but they come in and snuggle with us all the time. We got them fixed and caught the feral mom and got her done too. The papa kitty disappeared before they were even born.

senior cats demand to be allowed into our room. I mean, c'mon, they've got the entire house while we are shut into our bedroom. Our youngest senior cat knows how to scrabble on the door like a dog! We don't want to lock them in so early into "their" bedroom (we've created a nice, snuggly space for them under the window, which goes down to the floor, so, we thought, they would leave us alone. But noooo, they have to have us. The youngest senior cat will come in and start jumping from the headboard to the bottom of the bed, then runs around the bed, you know, just being a general heathern (southern term). He's a Maine Coon mix and Maine Coons never grow up - they think they are kittens for their entire lives and are considered the clowns of the cat world. It's all fun and games until you do not get a good night's sleep.
