Mittens the Kitten might not recognize my footsteps in the snow, but she sure knows my voice

The last couple of mornings, when I'm headed towards the food bowls, Mittens and Scooter have dashed out from beneath a shrub and headed for their shelter. As soon as I say 'Good Morning, Mittens!' she stops, turns around, sees it is me and then runs up to dart back and forth in front of me as I walk to the bowls.

When I call Scooter she's not QUITE as fast to come running, but eventually she does.

My family is coming over for dinner, today. I'm going to talk to the guys about building a shelter.

our chickens when my husband found Cowboy inside the "foolproof"
chicken yard fence with half a chicken in his mouth. Then he disappeared for several months and we spent every day looking, hoping he would return. That stopped after I got a phone call from a neighbor a mile away. She needed help with her feral, Baby, whom she'd trapped and knew I could handle a feral. Imagine my disgust upon seeing her Baby... it was my Cowboy ! It was perfectly obvious that he had been two timing me all along !! Well ! We agreed that I would take the little cheat home and try to domesticate him. Suffice it to say that the day he was ready to be released inside with my others was the last day I was allowed to do my private business without his standing right beside me crying for head scratches. We love him !!!
