Related: About this forumMORE progress on the feral front. Spooky meowed at me when I said her name, just now.
I was walking back to the house from putting out the afternoon food and she came out from the shelter area. Instead of running back, like she usually does, she stood and watched me. As soon as I greeted her, by name, she meowed and I got a couple of blinks. I was so shocked I had to say her name, again, and she again meowed back.
That made my day!

Cats don't meow at other cats, just people.

To her, I am just another cat, I think.
She does communicate with body language, though, sometimes pretty dramatically.
