Related: About this forumTo those of you who have non-finicky cats, I envy you now.
My old kitty will only eat one brand, one flavor. I'm connected with Chewy and they don't have it, I check every few hours. Have called PetSmart, Petco, Walmart, Target.....nothing. All 4 said they cannot do stock checks. I've been everywhere near and there is nothing. My local independent pet supply store does not carry any Purina products.
I wish I bought a bunch of cases from Chewy the last time I ordered but I thought that was hoarding. My mistake, I guess. To those who still have food available, stock up, this seems as though it won't get better soon. Maybe it is different in other states but I can't find her food in Mass.

(7,473 posts)She eats only 'Fancy Feast Medley's Shredded White Meat Chicken Fare with Garden Greens in a Savory Broth'. Green Can with Red stripe across the label. ( what a title!) This is not the regular Fancy Feast(white can).

I don't know where you are located but if you see it, perhaps I can contact the store and have it shipped. No idea when Chewy or other stores will have it and with the price of gas now so $$$, I can't keep driving around . I've contacted all the stores in my area. Zilch.

(65,358 posts)will get it for you. Just to warn you, it's now $1.19 per can!
My cats eat that flavor, too, but it's not their favorite, so I wouldn't mind sending you all I can find.

(21,466 posts)is not good. It lacks many nutrients that cats need.

(32,683 posts)she handles fish and chicken ok. wouldn't give to her all of time.

(21,466 posts)And other flesh/meat once in a while. Mine knows whenever I open a tuna can that she will get some of it. Same when I cook chicken or make a sandwich with luncheon meat. But those are just little once in a while treats, not meals. The OP is looking for canned, regular daily food.

(32,683 posts)It has almost killed her. If she eats any canned cat food it will kill her. She is hungry and eats all of the time and is so thin and dehydrated we have to give bags of saline solution with a drip bag with a needle. The Hills KD prescription cat food is $2.00/per 2.9oz can and she eats 3 of them a day. I have to buy them online and Hills screws up the orders all of the time. Tuna in a can is the only safe other food she can eat without dying.
Sorry about Purina and their garbage. Vet said older cats get this condition from eating dry cat food.
wnylib
(21,466 posts)And I understand why you give her tuna.
for the kitty and you.

(3,466 posts)I went directly to the Purina site out of curiosity, and clicked on "Buy Now" and there's a Wal-Mart near me that has it in stock. Maybe you'll have some luck near you? I'll look here when I'm out this week, the shelves are so empty everywhere, but I'll keep you in mind. I've been worried for 2 years about finicky cats. Mine is finicky, but at least she's given me about 8 foods to work with!

(7,473 posts)Not a fair price to the buyer. That is $64.00 for a whole case plus $15.00shipping.. Ridiculous.
This is $25.20 for a case of 24 from Chewy(if they have it in stock.) Free shipping over $49.00

(3,613 posts)That is what I just saw on several of my kitty's favorites. I don't want to buy a whole case of a new one that I don't know if he will eat or not. I did find some of the type I wanted on Amazon, but it was double the price. Sheesh.
I'm not about to run out of food yet, but I'm getting down to only cans of stuff he has turned his nose up at.
I'm so sorry, this is such an awful situation. I've read that sometimes pouring tuna juice or chicken broth onto food can often help attract them to it. Also, I've noticed that if I sprinkle just a little Fortiflora on a food she's refused, my cat will often eat it. Fortiflora contains pork liver, which is highly attractive.
Good luck!

(3,466 posts)This Amazon seller can ship it in several weeks, might want to at least try to get an order in for later?

(7,473 posts)A case of 24 cans from Chewy is $25.20 for 24 cans, the price on Amazon is 37.98 for 12 cans.
I feel this is gouging on the part of Amazon.
I contact the Chewy site several times a day. Also checked in today with Purina. Purina tells me the product will ---or should be available in a few weeks. No help now but I cannot justify buying from Amazon right now at $79.00 for 24 cans when the price from Chewy is 25.20 for 24 cans.
I find it hard to believe that a company the size of Purina cannot figure out how to cope with their "Medley's" product when they have other labels on the shelves.
Thanks to everyone who is helping me with this problem.
Best to you all.
