BIG step forward with Gryff, today

My brother was here to help me with cutting up some tree debris. Afterwards he made some Manhattans and sat down and chatted.

Now, Madoc LOVES my brother and always wants to play, when he's here, but Gryff always kept his distance. Today he jumped right up on the chair and into his lap! He even gave him some soft coos and a few nuzzles. My brother, who loves cats, couldn't have been more pleased.

And it made me very happy, too.

How's a Manhattan made? I think it was one of Dad's favorites.

5. We use R&R, Sweet Vermouth and a splash of bitters.

On ice. It was my dad's favorite cocktail. He called it 'Red Pop'. We sat for many hours beneath the branches of his Maple tree (he called it his 'air conditioned tree') sipping Manhattans while swapping stories about our time in the military, and many other topics.
