Related: About this forumI have officially surrendered the den to the kittens.
What you don't see is their playpen, in front of the fireplace hearth. And the big boys are now doing a whole lot of playing with them. I'm still keeping an eye on them so that they don't get too rough but so far it's been a joy to watch. And, occasionally participate. Which means I'm not getting nearly as much yard work done as I should, BUT it is kind of muddy after several days of rain so I can rationalize this whole situation.

(1,576 posts)I was just in the nursery watching and filming the 4 weekers as they staged impromptu wrestling matches. And as I type I just woke up the 6 weekers to get them into a crate to go for their first vaccinations.

(20,492 posts)to cede nothing!
Set up a perimeter defense at doorways/other choke points.
Cut off their supply lines.
Negotiate nothing! Complete surrender!
Then let them crawl in your lap and make that wonderful purr sound and give them anything they want.

(26,264 posts)Unfortunately, it's just too muddy, right now. Maybe tomorrow will be better and then I can plant on Monday or Tuesday. I cut way back on plants, this year. Hopefully I have a better harvest than last year. I'm tired of canned tomatoes.

(113,325 posts)The funny thing is, now that they have the kitty condo and cat tree to climb on, they aren't so much climbing on me!
They do climb up on the chair when they want a snuggle. Or, up my back when they want to access somewhere they shouldn't go.
