I've accepted defeat, at the paws of the kittens

Short of installing some sort of cathedral quality door, there's no containing them in the den. They scale EVERYTHING I try to put in their path. Baby gate? HA!! It might have stopped my friend's puppy but kittens laugh at the notion it will work on them.

So the upstairs is closed in my last effort to somewhat know where they are. Which, at the moment, I have NO idea. They do tend to gravitate back to the den, though.

Well, they're 9 weeks old so I knew this day was coming.

Today will be the real test. I'm going to an internment ceremony for my cousin, at Great Lakes National Cemetery so I'll be gone for a couple of hours. Hopefully they don't sign me up for any new premium cable packages while I'm gone.

I just make sure all closet doors are the laundry room door is closed. I do a head count before I leave. If needed a shake of the treat bag makes it easier.

But I keep the washer and dryer shut, and the soaps in the closed cabinet beneath the wash tub.

I might start putting them back in the spare room at night. I think my niece is picking up Freya next week so that will make things even easier.

I might sequester them in the guest room, this afternoon, while I'm gone. There's a service for my cousin, today, and his ashes are going to be interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. I'll probably be gone for a couple of hours and will have more peace of mind if I know the kittens aren't getting into things I've yet to discover should be moved.

There are times that it is a bit tricky to locate them, now, but they are adjusting to being 'free range' kittens, just fine

Now they are like little rocket cars, zooming the great expanses across the main floor. Lots of new places to explore and use for hiding places so their little brains are being fed and stimulated more and more, every day.
