Trying to change litter type, it was a huge failure

Even though I did notice that Shaw was not wheezing any longer, both cats rejected the change from clumping clay type litter to the worlds best litter. Firmly rejected the change.

I have ranch style house on a basement, & b/c of knee issues I put 2 pans in my computer room several years back, the going up & down the stairs to do daily litter box duty was getting to be too much, going weekly to do laundry is doable.

Dixie & Shaw after a week decided " Nope to the new litter" and went downstairs to poop & pee on the concrete floor. I noticed 18 hrs into the nope to that litter strike.
Sigh. They out stubborned me.

If, say in 10 years I get new cats, I'd start them from the start on Worlds Best litter instead of clay.

1. Have you tried Pretty Litter? Less odor, less dust and it doesn't stick to my...oh wait....I mean

the cat seems to like it fine. Maybe a little pricey.

2. I use Cats Pride unscented litter

It clumps but no dust. It even comes w/ baking soda which I’ll get, also. Thankfully, I have a lanai n keep the litter box out there so no smell...she goes thru my kitty door at will. Hope you find what works..Cats are particular but worth it 🐾

8. Dr. Elsey's is the best I've ever used. If I didn't have 8 litterboxes, I would use

it. Fortunately, we are still able to handle the 40 lb. bags of pine pellets from Tractor Supply. Some of our cats will wear out before we do and we will gradually shrink our kitty porta-johns down to a size that is manageable for a frail 80 yr. old woman.

My cat only likes a specific brand of clay litter that I don't particularly like. But when I tried to change it he showed his displeasure the same way yours did. Outside the litterbox.
He is not a very good litterbox user to begin with. So I have to get him the brand he will use, or else he is not using the litter box at all.
