In my experience, declared cats are often biters--I assume because they feel vulnerable. tblue37 Jun 2022 #13

My wife saw his photo on a website and had to have him. She drove almost four hours round trip to get him.

This is him on his perch atop a wardrobe in our bedroom.

He’s mellowing out for over time. But when he’s nervous, afraid or his feelings are hurt, he bites. A former human companion of his declawed his front paws. So, I think he feels vulnerable and paranoid sometimes.

He went though a very nasty period when the people across the hall had their floors refinished. The noise was awful. The whole time, Coltrane was either very needy for petting and affection, or ready to attack anyone who came near him. Poor guy.

I'm glad some places are outlawing that barbaric practice. I wish it were outlawed everywhere.

Please tell your wife that I am convinced there is some sort of cosmic matchup system that puts us together with our animals.

Marcuse, that cartoon gave me such a laugh.
