Related: About this forumHey! Mom just cleaned ALL of the litter boxes. LET'S ALL GO POOP!!!!
Yes, this is how my day has started.
Arthur seems to be adjusting to his new status as the only pipsqueak in the house. All three boys were curled up with me when I woke, this morning. He's been chasing his tail, wrestling with his big brothers, and insisting he's too far too old for kitten food. He will have what his brothers are eating, thank you very much. That will be a work in progress. I'm trying a kitten pate heavy mix.

(4,897 posts)That is the time she will choose to use the litter box. She will also go one step further and not cover her "business" if you're watching.

(522 posts)The other they do is they come in from outside, use the box then want to go back outside!
I won't let back out anymore, hoping for a teachable moment.

(2,559 posts)My home is a former church that I have converted into a theater. I adopted a litter of three kittens in November to be my theater cats. I wasn't quite fast enough getting the boy cat neutered. I am now the proud grandfather of six kittens. Nine cats altogether! The three senior cats had decided that among the three litter boxes in the place, only one was suitable for their refined tastes, so they used that one exclusively, ignoring the others. When the next generation came along and became mobile, I added a small, low-walled litter box for the kittens. The former favorite box was replaced in their little feline brains with the new kitten-scaled one. This needs to be scooped at least twice a day, or the aroma will drive me out of the place. No sooner do I start scooping than all the cats profess a need to "go"...right NOW! Once cleaned, and the debris taken outside, the beasts decide it's time to go again.
Love those kittens, but I'll be glad to get them adopted out!

(26,250 posts)The most 'fun' was after the kittens received their first de-worming medicine. I was scooping 2 to 3 times a day to avoid them walking through poop and tracking it through the house. I did a lot of butt and hind leg cleaning. I almost needed a forklift to get the trash can to the curb!
Perhaps I exaggerate, but there was a lot of clumped litter in the bag.
