Does anyone near Pittsburgh want a cat with an attitude?

This was posted on the Facebook page of Fix Ur Cat, a low cost spay and neuter service near Pittsburgh.

This is Vanna White.

Vanna White has been living in the offices of Fix Ur Cat for a year now. She is not pleased.

Admittedly, not much pleases Vanna. She has what you’d call a difficult personality and she’s had a lot in her life to be cranky about. To begin with, she’s totally deaf, which means humans are always startling her out of her beauty sleep. She hates that.

Last year, Vanna was found dumped on a roadside along with her kittens. She was then spayed and her kittens adopted out to good homes. She hasn’t forgiven humans for any of it.

So, because she’s difficult, and because we don’t know what else to do with her, she’s been hanging out at Fix Ur Cat along with the office cats. She doesn’t like them very much, either.

In the year she’s been with Fix Ur Cat, Vanna has turned from a nervous skinny cat into a demanding diva fat cat. Her hobbies include terrorizing people trying to use the bathroom and chasing one of those toys with feathers on strings. She feels that humans aren’t playing with her nearly enough.

Vanna requires a home without other pets or children. She needs a quiet, consistent environment with adult humans who will be patient with her, play with her, and worship her like the goddess she thinks she is.

Are you that special home? You can find an application to adopt Vanna White here:

Deafness happens with white cats with green and blue eyes sometimes TexasBushwhacker Aug 2022 #1
Yes, it's genetic, but I thought it was just blue eyes. ShazzieB Aug 2022 #2
Perhaps she has a keener sense of smell as a result. GreenWave Aug 2022 #3

White cats with "odd" eyes (one blue and one another color like yellow or green) are much less like to be deaf than cats with two blue eyes.

Anecdata: I had an odd-eyed white cat years and years ago who had one litter before we managed to get her spayed. 2 of the 4 kittens were white, one odd-eyed and one with blue eyes. The odd-eyed one seemed to be able to hear fine, just like her mother, but the blue eyed one was quite deaf. (We figured it out when he was the only one who didn't run like hell when we turned on the vacuum cleaner! )
