What a difference a year makes

This young guy was found abandoned on a busy highway. Luckily, a friend of ours, who works at a cat rescue, spotted him being dropped off at the local "kill" shelter. Before he got inside, she called us and asked if we could foster him. We agreed, and what a spectacular foster fail it was. The vet says he is nearly pure Havanese, and is in excellent health. She says he was about a year old when we got him. In the pictures, you can see that he had never been groomed. "Such a travesty," our female Bichon says. "He must be groomed immediately, or else I will have nothing to do with him." Well, he did get groomed, and they have been best buds ever since.

I've also adopted my dogs (other than the dog I grew up with) from rescue, usually seniors, and I've never been disappointed. Two of my pups have lived past 18, wishing the same long life to your adorable sweetheart...
