It can be a challenge but I'm determined to give Carys at least one snuggle per day

She seems to relax, for a while, but she has her limits.

Today all three boys were snuggled up with me and all I could think is how perfect it would be if Carys was with them. Maybe some day. Maybe not. I'll just keep hoping.

It's not lack of affection that makes some cats resist snuggling. It's an instinctive wariness of being confined and controlled by someone else. Ember loves to snuggle up to my face and neck at night, but if I curl my arm around her, she takes off faster than Superman fleeing kryptonite.

5. Our 2 cats like to be near us but are not lap cats except when I use...

...one of 2 blankets. One is a weighted blanket with a very plush velour-type cover, and the other is a polyester fleece one that used to belong to one of our son's roommates and soccer team mates. Soccer ball pattern - our little tuxedo female sort of disappears into this blanket.

The moment is wrap myself in either of these blankets, one or the other cat is sure to appear - sometimes both.

Stroke her forehead from between her eyes to the top of her head? It mimics their mother's licking them for reassurance, I've found it helps them relax and get more comfortable with me when I do that with new acquaintances.

Othello snuggles on his terms,I am thankful when he chooses to goift me with some snuggles. He is slowly becoming more affectionate.

9. I have

had several cats over the last 37years and only one was a snuggle buddy-my first cat. I had one other one that would occasionally get on my lap, but never for long.
