Carys was full of surprises, this morning

She hopped up on the bed so I picked her up for a snuggle. After she'd had enough she headed towards the edge of the bed but then turned around. Back she came, giving me head butts and kitten kisses. She stretched out next to me and started to purr and nibble and lick my hand. Then the rollies started up. Of course I had to make the attempt to scratch her tummy and, of course, she went into playful attack mode. Twice more she got up, looking like she was going to jump down on the floor, but instead she returned and did more rubbing, purring, kissing and head butting.

This is totally new behavior. What a way to start my day.

HOw old is she now?

She seems to be comfortable with all the loving and snuggling and places to explore and hide. It's a good day.

I'm trying to remember when I first saw her and her siblings. I think it was August and they were frolicking little fur balls so I figure they were born in July.

Arthur is 10 months old, this month. Hard to believe. Harder to believe that in July, Madoc and Gryff will be 2.

She is getting much more settled and playful. I figure she might never be quite as sociable as the boys, but that's OK. Most nights she sleeps next to me and if this morning's behavior becomes the norm, I'll be elated.

I'm glad they all seem to have formed a family, it's a really nice thing to have that many cats who all enjoy each other.

For Carys, who was 4 month old, totally feral and shyest of the 3 siblings, to have reached this point of socialization just amazes me. She wouldn't even come near me, even after both Moon and Space Boy were letting me pick them up. The only way we got her inside was my friend, the expert cat rescuer, snuck up on her while I served as a distraction.

Funny how patient I am with cats. My patience with humans is very limited.

I had a reputation, once upon a time, as something of a cat whisperer and there are ways to catch a feral cat, often something simple.

I have far more time and patience for animals than humans!

so you won't put a puffy collar on her, too, like Arthur.

with this happy little girl.

I am with you on the patience thing. Endless patience for the furries. Almost none for people, especially these days.
