In the first film, during the parade in 1915, I noticed that several of the flag bearers for the troops were young women!

And it's nice to see, in the second film at Gettysburg, where there were both Union and Confederate veterans, there wasn't a single Confederate flag to be seen.

About 6,000 veterans of the civil war alive at the time. Each attendee had to have an attendant.
It is said that Jackie Kennedy got the idea for JFK’s “eternal flame”from touring Gettysburg. The eternally burning flame that Roosevelt dedicated.
