Forty years of civil war, ushered in by the weak King Henry VI, the crown changing hands 7 times. Rival factions, everyone armed from the Hundred Years War on the continent, rival camps and powers in conflict, Lord Protectors, shadow governments. Why do I think of parallels to America's 21st Century?

Nearly 300 years of Plantagenet and English history separate the two.
