How do you fight the police?
My granddaughter is being sued in small claims court for an accident last year that she had no part of. It wasn't her car, she was 2 hours away at her home, she wasn't driving, but she's being sued. We couldn't figure out where they even got her name. Evidently the cop never ran the plates or asked the driver whose car it was. He said he found a piece of paper with her name on it and that's what he put in the accident report. Then he had the audacity to yell at them for questioning him about where he got her name.
I should add that it was her sister that owned the car. Too bad she didn't have Justin Biebers name in it.
Anyway they dropped the suit, so no court, but all this is still on her record and they want her to jump through hoops trying to prove that it wasn't her car. She gave them all the paperwork and now they are claiming that they probably transferred the title after the accident. Stupid! Her sister bought it from a dealer. It shouldn't be that hard to prove, but noooo, because the police never make mistakes according to them.
It's all a big clusterf***.and it's costing her a ton a money in gas trying to straighten this out.
Just wanted to vent.
