Clemency for Keith Giammanco

I would like to introduce all of you to the case of Keith Giammanco.

This is a middle-class, professional man who when faced as a single parent with not being able to provide for his children made a horrible mistake and turned to bank robbery. When captured, he pled guilty and served a six-year sentence in Federal prison. His situation did not end there, a MO state prosecutor charged him with the same crimes in state court and he was sentenced not to six years as in Federal Prison but to twenty years for crimes where he never used a weapon or threatened to use a weapon.

Keith has served his Federal sentence and now is in State prison for the same crime. He has been a model prisoner and when he rejoins society will begin to pay restitution to the financial institutions.

Please consider helping in the efforts to ask the governor of MO to grant clemency to Keith Giammanco. No American should be convicted of the same crime twice.

depriving people of their civil rights to be alive in Federal court after being found not guilty in local courts. Sometimes being charged twice is the only way of getting justice. But in this case it seems like it is a true injustice.

and in some cases of hate crimes that additional charge and trial is necessary even today. But I agree in this case, this man was tried for the exact same crimes. A complete injustice for him and an unnecessary expense for the taxpayers.

ask any child if it would be all alright to spank another child again for something he was already spanked for.
