If a post is 100% insults, invectives, & vilification doesn't it mean the author concedes defeat? nt

But it usually is an indicator that the poster is completely out of rational thoughts. Once emotion kicks in and fuels the debate about public policy the biggest and best crybaby will win. They teach that in journalism schools these days, apparently.

Consider the lurkers who greatly outnumber the posters. We are like debaters before an audience. When we use logic and reason, while the other side has only emotion and insults, then we will tend to win to our side some of the lurkers. It is the audience that matters. I know that I will never convince the extreme anti-gun people here, but at the same time I know that I am winning some of the audience to my side. By not engaging in intelligent debate they are conceding some of the audience to me, and I call that a win.
