Vermont lawmakers to consider assault rifle ban

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont lawmakers plan this year to weigh in on the national debate over gun rights following a recent spate of mass shootings, including one in which 20 Connecticut schoolchildren and six school staff died.

Sen. Philip Baruth, the majority leader in the Senate, is introducing a bill that would reinstate in Vermont the federal assault weapons ban that had been in effect for several years but no longer is.

Baruth’s bill also seeks to cap the number of rounds in a gun’s magazine to five.

Just saying isn't saying anything. Gunner bullshit talking points again?
For the umpteenth time, we make laws knowing we can't stop or protect from every event the law addresses but we don't stop trying to effect a change.
When are you gunners going to get a clue and quit with the talking points?

VT is one of them most liberal in terms of gun control, among other things, and the voters aren't stupid.
